BRAND NEW TARIFF

pro.plan

Our brand-new business mobile tariff means business

For the customer

pro.plan is designed to meet the needs of modern businesses, which means it’s ALL about the data.

Customers have come to expect unlimited minutes and texts that can be used in the UK and plan.com Europe Zone*, so that’s what we give them. The BIG difference here is they also get to choose from SEVEN different data options (including an eye-watering 100GB!) or they can choose pro.plan Switch – a brand-new, hassle-free approach to data.

For the partner

Using our new sophisticated competitor comparison calculators, we’ve updated our commissions so that we pay the best in standard commissions across our entire pro.plan range.

We’ve also massively increased the range of prices that you can sell our tariffs:

1 GB 3 GB 6 GB
12 GB 25 GB 50 GB
100 GB switch (see below)

* Fair usage thresholds apply. Please refer to the terms and conditions for more information.

PRO.PLAN FAQs

When is pro.plan available?

From 1 March 2019, this all-round tariff is available to all new and renewing customers.

How do I choose pro.plan?

pro.plan will be available through the quote builder on the v4 portal from 1 March.

Who is the pro.plan tariff aimed at?

The massive range of data options make pro.plan flexible enough to cater for all types of businesses with different needs – from light, occasional users to customers with a large appetite for data who need to stay connected.

How has the range of pricing changed on the new tariffs?

We now automatically allow partners to push tariff prices down to the very limit, so you can deal with even the most price-sensitive customers.

What about mobile broadband?

pro.plan is currently only available on mobile contracts and is not compatible with other connected devices.

Can you add bolt-ons to pro.plan?

Yes. The full range of standard plan.com bolt-ons can be added to a pro.plan contract with the exception of Data Boosts to pro.plan 100GB tariff.

BRAND NEW TARIFF

pro.plan  switch

Our hassle-free approach to data offers great deal of flexibility

When it comes to data, some business customers can be hard to predict! Their data usage varies month to month and you spend a great deal of time and effort trying to keep them connected while keeping their costs under control.

Introducing pro.plan Switch. Switch makes the entire pro.plan tariff range available in just one single flexible tariff. There’s no need for Data Boosts, Spending Limit increases or tariff upgrades... everything is taken care of.

pro.plan Switch is perfect for businesses whose data usage varies month on month. pro.plan Switch reacts to a customer’s monthly data usage, automatically upgrading them to the best tariff so they’ll always be getting the best deal.

Here’s how it works

You agree and set the customer’s fixed, monthly line rental as usual, which includes 1GB of data. Any time a customer’s data usage moves into a new data band, their tariff is automatically upgraded, and they are notified by text. At the end of the month, the customer is charged the pre-agreed monthly line rental plus the accumulated upgrade charge.

Each month, the customer’s pro.plan Switch tariff resets and, once again, only line rental will be paid if the customers usage is less than 1GB at the end of the billing cycle.

Please be aware that you cannot set a Spending Limit or Cap to stop the automatic pro.plan Switch upgrades at a specific point within the 100GB limit (e.g. 50GB).

Customers will not be automatically barred unless data usage exceeds 100GB, at which point a Spending Limit or Cap that has been set up will come into effect.

pro.plan Switch Upgrade Charge Cumulative Upgrade
Charges for the month
1GB £0 £0
3GB £5 £5
6GB £5 £10
12GB £5 £15
25GB £5 £20
50GB £10 £30
100GB £10 £40

PRO.PLAN SWITCH FAQs

How does pro.plan Switch work?

You agree and set the customer’s fixed, monthly line rental as usual, which includes 1GB of data. Any time a customer’s data usage trransitions into a new data band, their tariff is automatically upgraded, and they are notified by text. At the end of the month, the customer is charged the pre-agreed monthly line rental plus the accumulated upgrade charge.

There are six upgrades possible at a total incremental cost of £40. Usage exceeding 100GBs in a month is rated at our standard Out of Bundle rate (currently 4p/MB). Each month, the customer’s pro.plan Switch tariff resets and, once again, only line rental will be paid if the customers usage is less than 1GB at the end of the billing cycle.

When is pro.plan Switch available?

From 1 March 2019 pro.plan Switch is available to all new and renewing customers.

How is commission calculated on pro.plan switch data usage?

As a partner you will receive 10% commission on each automatic tariff upgrade, based on the upgrade charges (see table above). If a service uses more than 100GB of data, standard out of bundle data charges and commission applies.

Who is pro.plan Switch for?

This tariff is ideal for business customers whose data usage varies from month to month but who don’t want the hassle of swapping tariffs or adding data boosts. This product is designed for users who want to use all the data they want without worry of expensive out of bundle charges.

Who is pro.plan Switch not aimed at?

This tariff is not aimed at customers with consistent data requirements and who want consistent bills from month to month. This product is not designed for business customers who are cost sensitive and trying to limit their bill to a fixed monthly amount. These business customers will always be better off with a fixed data allowance from the pro.plan range.

How will pro.plan Switch display in the v4 partner portal?

When a service is on a pro.plan switch, they will show in the portal as having a 100GB allowance. SMS notifications are sent to a device whenever they cross each threshold (e.g. 1GB, 3GB, 6GB etc.) However, on the portal, their maximum allowance will always show as 100GB and will remain unaffected by their current usage.

How will the charges appear on the customer’s bill?

Charges resulting from automatic upgrades throughout the month will appear as a separate item on the customer’s bill.

Do incremental pro.plan Switch tariff charges count towards the bill spend cap or spending limits?

No, additional charges for pro.plan Switch will not count towards bill spend or overspend limit calculations, so this should be made clear to customers before they purchase the plan. The customer must be comfortable that they may incur up to £40 of incremental charges as part of this tariff and accept that they cannot be automatically barred due to any data overspend configurations unless they exceed 100GB of usage and incur out of bundle charges.

Data Bars

Please be aware that you cannot set a Spending Limit or Cap to stop the automatic pro.plan Switch upgrades at a specific point within the 100GB limit (e.g. 50GB). Customers will not be automatically barred unless data usage exceeds 100GB, at which point a Spending Limit or Cap that has been set up will come into effect.

Alerts and notifications

SMS notifications are sent to a device whenever they cross each threshold (e.g. 1GB, 3GB, 6GB etc.) In addition to this, usage notifications can be configured as normal at 50%, 80% and 100% of data usage – in which case, then they will be notified at 50GB, 80GB, and 100GB.

Can a customer change from a pro.plan tariff to pro.plan Switch?

The only way to do this would be for the customer to renew their contract, which is not always possible in the early stages of a contract.

Can a customer change from a pro.plan Switch to pro.plan tariff?

The only way to do this would be for the customer to renew their contract, which is not always possible in the early stages of a contract.

Can you add Data Boosts to pro.plan Switch?

No. pro.plan Switch has been designed to eliminate the need for tariff swaps and data bolt-ons and as such, Data Boosts are incompatible with pro.plan Switch tariffs.

Can you add other bolt-ons to pro.plan Switch?

Yes. With the exception of Data Boosts, the full range of standard plan.com bolt-ons can be added to a pro.plan contract:

TARIFF ADD-ON FAQs

What do I need to know about Tariff add-ons?

Most tariff ranges on the market include built-in extras that benefit only a minority of customers at the cost of the majority – and partners get no say in the matter. With pro.plan, we make these Tariff add-ons optional, meaning that partners can tailor the plans to the specific needs of the customer.

Are there any restrictions?

Yes – Tariff add-ons can ONLY be added to new connections and renewals during the contract stage. They cannot be added or removed after a service has connected. Tariff add-ons are only available for pro.plan customers with specific data options (see above chart for full details).

How do I add a Tariff add-ons in the quote builder?

Tariff add-ons can only be added using the blue button in the quote builder

How are Tariff add-ons charged to customers?

Tariff add-ons are free to customers – there is no fixed cost or additional charge. However, your commission is affected when adding these optional extras, so you may choose to increase the fixed tariff to compensate for the added service. We do not advise adding Tariff add-ons by default – these are effective sales tools that can be used to attract customers with specific business requirements or get a deal over the line.

RETIRED TARIFFS

As of the 1 March 2019, we are deprecating more.plan, exec.plan and SIMO.plan.

This means that all new quotes generated from 1 March 2019 will not have the option to choose more.plan or exec.plan tariffs.

All retired tariffs

From 1 March 2019, all retired tariffs (including more.plan and exec.plan) will be unavailable on renewal quotes.

All renewal quote tariff options will be automatically mapped to an equivalent pro.plan tariff. However, existing quotes that include more.plan and exec.plan will still be honoured.

RETIRED PRODUCTS AND OTHER CHANGES FAQs

Can customers on existing more.plan or exec.plan tariffs benefit from Tariff add-ons?

No, these customers will not be able to benefit from the new Tariff add-ons until they renew on pro.plan tariffs.

What is happening to more.plan, exec.plan and Exec Traveller?

These products will no longer be available on new quotes with effect from 1 March 2019. Existing quotes with these products will still be honoured and you will still be able to add Exec Traveller to an existing exec.plan tariff.

INTERNATIONAL CALLS

Minimum call charges and price increase

Minimum call charges

On 1 April 20191, we are introducing minimum charges to all international calls (calls made from the UK that terminate in destinations outside of the UK).

The minimum call charge will apply to calls that last less than one minute. In these cases, the minimum charge is equivalent to a one-minute call and the price is based on the destination in which the call is received. For more information please refer our pricing guide. Per minute pricing will remain the same.

Customers will be notified of the minimum call charge clarification on their March invoice.

1 Minimum price effective from 1 March 2019 for pro.plan tariffs

Price increase

On 1 April 20191 we are increasing our per-minute rate on calls made while roaming in our Europe Zone that are received in non-European destinations from 79p per minute to 140p/minute, with a minimum charge of 140p. This is to bring our pricing in-line with other providers.

Customers will be notified of the call charge increase on their March invoice.

Changes to out of contract commission payments

Following our recent tariff refresh, we are making changes to out of contract commission payments.

Existing commission payment model

When a service is no longer in contract we continue to pay commission on Out of Bundle charges - typically domestic calls and texts (40%), non-geographic calls (10%), roaming calls, texts and data (15%), international calls (15%), premium calls and texts (15%). We also pay ongoing commission on standard fixed charges based on the original contractual %, which is usually capped at 40%.

New commission payment model

When a service is no longer in contract, we will pay commission on Out of Bundle charges that is set at 15% (excluding any items that have their own specific rates, e.g. non-geographic calls, which are set at 10%)

We will also pay commission on standard fixed charges based on the original contractual % (capped at 15%).

All commission (on fixed and Out of Bundle charges) will be removed once the service(s) have been out of contract for more than three months.

These changes will take effect from 1st March 2019.

Transitional period

To mitigate the immediate impact of these changes on our partners, services that have been out of contract for 3 months or more on 1st March will be given a 31-day grace period, which means that a 15% rate will apply to all the relevant fixed and usage charges incurred in March, in the manner described above. Once that grace period is over, any charges incurred won't be subject to any commission payments.

Any services that have been out of contract for less than 3 months will be given a grace period of 31 days or the number of days left in the 3-month period immediately after the service went out of contract, (as defined above), whichever is the longest. This rule effectively enforces a minimum of 31 days throughout that the 15% rate will apply. Once that grace period is over, any charges incurred won't be subject to any commission payments.
