About the role

We’re searching for a diligent and professional Compliance Manager to join our Legal and Compliance team who are tasked with enabling the continued growth of plan.com. 

You’ll be responsible for ensuring that our company adheres to all relevant legal and regulatory standards, as well as internal policies and procedures.  

Professionalism and high ethical standards are expected for this position, alongside a result driven approach that is aligned with the company objectives. 

Duties and responsibilities

You will have overall responsibility for the development and implementation of a clear regulatory strategy that aligns to our commercial goals, including but not limited to:

  • Day to day oversight of the regulatory and compliance aspects across the business including new business initiatives. If we are expanding into a new business, industry or geography you will be part of the team helping to shape that expansion.
  • Analysis and communication of policy initiatives and discussion documents from regulators for senior management.
  • Nurturing and growing relationships with relevant regulatory and legislative bodies.
  • Working alongside all departments within the business, including, tech, marketing, sales, service, corporate development and finance, to deliver accurate and timely compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • You will have exposure to, and the opportunity to shape, decisions taken by the CEO and senior management team.
  • You will be self-motivated and sufficiently confident to suggest innovative solutions to compliance related challenges

Key skills/attributes

 A skilled compliance professional with a minimum of four years’ experience in an autonomous compliance role.

  • You can take a commercial approach towards regulation and provide pragmatic compliance/regulatory advice across the business.
  • You display clarity of thought and are proficient in explaining complex issues clearly.
  • You balance a strategic, “big picture” view with analytical ability and attention to detail.
  • You have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and can put together clear arguments tailored to your audience.
  • You can influence and persuade at all levels and produce impactful regulatory presentations.
  • Good interpersonal skills are critical. You can build and maintain a network of contacts across the business and have experience in stakeholder management.
  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise quickly and effectively.
  • A confident and clear communicator capable of challenging at all levels if required.
  • An exceptional eye for detail and a natural ability to see the underlying intention within regulation.

 Experience

  • A skilled compliance professional with a minimum of three years’ experience in an autonomous compliance role. 
  • While compliance experience within the telecoms would be beneficial applications from a compliance professional with a financial services or eGaming background will be considered.
  • A strong knowledge of GDPR and AML legislation is crucial, alongside demonstrable experience of setting and implementing legal or compliance projects.
