Underwriting Analyst (Fixed Term Contract – 6 Months)

Job Purpose

An exciting opportunity to make a real difference. The Underwriter will be responsible for assessing and underwriting both our partners and customers, ensuring risk to the business is minimised. You will work closely with the Sales team to support growth by providing underwriting guidance and commercial insight.

The role requires strong business acumen, analytical and numerical strength, attention to detail, and the ability to digest multiple streams of information to make objective, risk-based decisions. Strong communication skills are essential.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Review new applications to determine risk profile and provide summary reports to stakeholders
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date knowledge of the client base and ensure data integrity
• Interpret credit risk information to make informed credit approvals
• Support the business by acting as a key decision-maker in risk matters
• Assess funding requests using analytical techniques to maximise commercial outcomes
• Build and maintain key business reports related to risk
• Manage day-to-day processes to ensure credit approvals and funding requests are handled efficiently

Key Attributes

Essential

• Strong commercial awareness and business acumen
• Numerically strong and analytical mindset
• Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Basic knowledge of finance and accounting
