Job Summary

Following the restructuring and sub-division of our finance function, we have an exciting new opportunity for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join our team. This role offers the chance for the successful candidate to evolve alongside our company as we embark on our next phase of expansion.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting processes, with a drive to understand the complexities of our business and capable of tackling problems from all sorts of different angles. This role will involve various aspects of corporate finance and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and transparency. The Financial Reporting Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of financial records and supporting decision-making processes within the organisation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts and onward reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Preparation of statutory reporting
  • Ensuring the accurate and timely maintenance of core accounting records
  • Covenant monitoring and reporting to external finance providers
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Preparation and submission of IOM and UK Corporate Tax returns and ensuring compliance with the latest taxation legislation
  • Support with the ongoing maintenance and further development of a robust financial control environment
  • Liaising with external auditors
  • Ad hoc projects
  • Training and mentoring junior members of staff

Key Skills / Attributes

  • An ACA or ACCA qualified Accountant, ideally with audit experience
  • Strong knowledge of Excel
  • Willingness to embrace an environment where no two days are the same
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Desire to understand and challenge the detail behind the numbers within the business
  • Attention to detail in a pressured environment is critical
  • Ambition to be a key team member, driving an already successful business to even greater heights

  • Diligent with a focus on accuracy of output and able to work to tight deadlines
  • A hunger for learning and development

Experience of working within a business with high volumes of transactions would be desirable
